MILPITAS, CA--(Marketwired - July 26, 2013) - Virident Systems Inc., the performance leader in flash-based storage-class memory (SCM) solutions, has been named the bronze winner in the Most Innovative Product of the Year category in Best in Biz Awards 2013 International, an independent business-awards program judged by members of the press and industry analysts. Having researched and covered countless successful companies, these judges are uniquely qualified to objectively evaluate and score the competition to choose the top companies, teams, executives and products from among the submissions in each category. This year's judging panel includes 43 judges from 18 countries on all continents. Virident was chosen for its FlashMAX II Storage Class Memory (SCM) solution, which offers enterprises unconditional performance combined with the industry's highest storage capacity in the smallest footprint.

Virident's FlashMAX II devices range in capacity from 550GB to 2.2 TB, in both MLC and SLC types of flash media. FlashMAX II fits any server and provides the highest capacity in a single low-profile card, enabling organizations to maximize the use of valuable data-center space and reduce data-center sprawl. FlashMAX SCM has been designed from the ground up to fully exploit today's computer architectures, which leverage many fast CPU cores and the PCI Express interconnect bus to deliver maximum application performance.

More than 150 public and private companies representing all sectors of the economy from more than 25 countries competed in Best in Biz Awards' International's inaugural program. Best in Biz Awards 2013 International honors are conferred in a wide range of categories, including Fastest-Growing Company of the Year, Most Innovative Company of the Year, Best Place to Work, Technology Department of the Year, Executive of the Year, Enterprise Product of the Year, Small/Medium Business Product of the Year, Most Innovative Product of the Year, and Film or Video of the Year.

"Even with the flash memory solutions available for performance-critical application workloads, enterprises still have a hard time sustaining that performance level over the life of a solid-state drive," said Mike Gustafson, CEO at Virident. "Companies need solutions that speed application response time and optimize data-center efficiency for new levels of ROI. Winning the Most Innovative Product of the Year for the Best in Biz Awards 2013 International is another validation that Virident's enterprise-class Storage Class Memory (SCM) solutions are revolutionizing enterprise computing."

Winners of Best in Biz Awards 2013 International were determined based on scoring from a panel of 43 judges drawn from top-tier news, business, finance, and technology publications and media outlets from 18 countries, with all continents represented.
